Group Management

Creating Static Group 

- Access the Memberbase dashboard.  
- Navigate to the “Group section”.  
- Right-click on “Create group”. 
- Enter your group information, including your Name, Description, and Type. 
- In the “choose an option” dropdown, select “STATIC” 
- Finally, click on the “save group” button. 

Adding Contacts to Groups 

- Log in to your Memberbase platform. 
- Navigate to the “Contact section”. 
- Select the contact(s) you wish to add to a group. 
- Look for the "Add to group" button, usually located at the top of the table. 
- Click on the “choose an option” dropdown and select the group you wish to add the members to. 
- Click "Add" to add the selected contacts. 
You can add one contact to multiple groups.
 

Adding Organisations to Groups  

- Log in to your Memberbase platform. 
- Navigate to the “Organisation section”. 
- Select the organisation (s) you wish to add to a group. 
- Look for the "Add to group" button, usually located at the top of the table. 
- Right-click on the “choose an option” dropdown and select the group you wish to add the organisation to. 
- Click "Add" to add the selected organisation. 
The organisation E-mail and the Admin contact receive copies of any email communications sent to the organisation. 
One organisation can be added to multiple groups. 

Creating Dynamic Group 

- Access the Memberbase dashboard.  
- Navigate to the “Group section”.  
- Right-click on “Create group”. 
- Enter your group information, including your Name, Description, and Type. 
- In the “Choose an option” input tab selects “DYNAMIC” 
- Finally click on the “save group” button. 
By following these steps, you can create dynamic groups within your member base that allow you to target specific subsets of your members for communication and engagement purposes.

Dynamic Group Filters 

The filters for the dynamic groups perform in a special way. Here is a list of the operators and how they perform:  
- Equals: Used to check if a number is equal to the value input in the value field
  (does not work for text, only numbers).  
- Not Equals: Used to check if a number is not equal to the value input in the value field
  (does not work for text, only numbers).  
- Greater Than: Used to check if a number is greater than the value input in the value field
   (does not work for text, only numbers).  
- Less Than: Used to check if a number is less than the value input in the value field
  (does not work for text, only numbers).  
- Contains: Used to check if the text contains the value input in the value field.
  (Only works for text)  
- Does not contain: Used to check if text does not contain the value input in the value field.
  (Only works for text)  
- Starts with: Used to check if text starts with the value input in the value field.
  (Only works for text)  
- Does not start with: Used to check if text does not start with the value input in the value field.
  (Only works for text)  
- Ends with: Used to check if text ends with the value input in the value field.
  (Only works for text)  
- Does not End with: Used to check if text does not end with the value input in the value field.
  (Only works for text)  
- Before: Used to check if a date is before the value input in the value field.
  (Only works for dates)  
- After: Used to check if a date is after the value input in the value field.
  (Only works for dates)  
- On The day: Used to check if a date is on the same day as the value input in the value field.
  (Only works for dates)  
- True or False: Used to check if a value is true or false
  (Only works for true/false values) 

Linking Groups to Mailchimp

- Access the Memberbase dashboard. 
- Navigate to the “Group section”. 
- Select the group(s) that wants to be linked to mail chimp. 
- Click on “Marketing”. 
- Select “Publish to Marketing List” 
- Select an option 
- Click on the “Sync Now” checkbox. 
- Finally click on the “Publish” button. 

Downloading Group Members 

- Access the Memberbase dashboard.  
- Navigate to the “Group section”. 
- Select the group that wants to be downloaded. 
- Click on “download members”. 
- Fill in the fields respectively, passwords inclusive. 
- Proceed by clicking the “Download” button. 
We need to ensure that your stakeholder information is always kept safe from prying eyes because it could include personally identifiable information. So, we require that all stakeholder downloads are password protected.
